The Center for International and European Studies (CIES) at Kadir Has University invites applications for internships. The CIES Internship Program is an opportunity for university students and recent graduates to work on projects and do research as well as to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of international relations.

The CIES pursues applied, policy-oriented research, build capacity and to promote knowledge on both horizontal and geographical issues and concerns. Its areas of research include EU institutions and policies, cross-cutting horizontal issues such as regional cooperation, global governance, democracy, civic engagement, leadership, youth, gender, energy, and security, inter alia with a geographical focus on the Black Sea Region including the Caucasus, the Mediterranean, South-eastern Europe, transatlantic relations, and Greek-Turkish relations.

Interns play an important role at the CIES. Interns are expected to be involved in the following types of tasks:

  • Reviewing or editing documents
  • Improving the database of the CIES
  • Assisting in the organization of events
  • Conducting research and analyzing issues associated with the focus areas of the CIES
  • Providing input and contributing to the CIES’ communication channels
  • Contributing to the development of concept notes or project proposals

The CIES provides the interns with a working space, library, and other resources of the university while conducting their research at Kadir Has University. The university is located at the center of the city, mainly on the shores of the Golden Horn in an area of Istanbul particularly rich in history and culture.

The internship is a non-salaried position but it could be done in the framework of Erasmus + Programme or similar mobility programs. (
